The Volunteer’s Role
This placement will support the efforts aimed at strengthening the capacity of TANZANIA WOMEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (TWCC) in the area of monitoring and evaluation of projects. Effective monitoring and evaluation will allow TWCC to ensure accountability, transparency as well as to be able to report well their progress on the implementation of strategic plans, programs or smaller projects. As a Volunteer, will utilize monitoring and evaluation expertise to follow up on the activities of Human Rights and Community Development being implemented by TWCC.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Research and write stories that capture the impact of international volunteering and of working in partnership to tackle poverty.
- Work closely with TWCC staff to establish project logistics and schedule
- Monitoring external media coverage of TWCC
- Ensure that information is delivered in appropriate formats (as specified) upon completion of the placement
- Prepare and update organization promotion materials such as brochure, banners, file etc
- If time permits, assist the TWCC with the creation and development of communications material and conduct communication training sessions for staff.
- In collaboration with program and Membership department, develop event concept note and fundraise for organization promotional and knowledge sharing events
- Prepare contents for TWCC website and share with IT team to post in the website
- In collaboration with local Communication Officer -Create and produce internal newsletters for the organization (Monthly newsletter and quarterly news letter covering organization activities from across the country
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a similar discipline
Essential Background:
- Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies
- Strong writing, editing, and communications skills; experience in developing print and digital communications materials
- Willingness and ability to conduct training sessions on effective communications
- Sound working knowledge of digital and social media
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Person with creativity, sound judgement and ability to work both independently and in a team
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, etc. High level attention to detail and evidence of a superior work ethics.
